The men behind

Thorbjørn Thaarup.

I’m from Denmark and for each day passing I have grown more and more tired of the Danish media’s focus on English (and even Spanish sigh…) football.

My passion is the beautiful world of Italian Football, and on this site I do my very best in sharing my thoughts on all matters concerning calcio.

Italian football left its eternal bitemark on me when I around 1990 heard of Napoli side featuring Careca, de Napoli, Carnevale, and Maradona. I think I vaguely remember the 1989 UEFA-cup final against Stuttgart. Since then I have been an avid fan, through hardships and celebrations.

Napoli however isn’t my only concern and I do try not to become too biased in my writings. Italian football as a whole is important to me.

Lars Aabjerg Pedersen

My name is Lars Aabjerg Pedersen (as you might have noticed, we spend a lot of time making up mysteriously opaque signatures in here!) and I hail from Denmark as well.

I was first turned on to Calcio at the 1990 World Cup in Italy, and was eventually drawn towards the beautiful black and white jersey sported at club level by the revelation of that tournament; wiz kid Roberto Baggio.

Since then I’ve been following Juventus, the Serie A in general and Gli Azzuri as closely as the media allowed me to – which in Denmark wasn’t necessarily very close. But the relative inaccessibility of the Serie A up North actually endowed the clubs and indeed the country of Italy with a certain air of mystery and allure which still lasts today.

In recent years, the advent of numerous websites, blogs, streamcasts etc. have allowed me to become even more absorbed in the world of Italian football, and I hope that by writing these little POV’s on Calcio, we might get to ignite a spark of passion for the Italian game in our readers.

Oh, and you can enjoy my raving, ranting and loving tweets as well. I’ll be @larsaabjerg on twitter – don’t hesitate to follow! You can e-mail me here.
